Abbotsford Summer Junior Group Tennis Camps

Fundamental (Beginner)

Our Fundamental group camp is for players with little or no previous tennis experience. At this level, we lay the foundation for students to be able to use the serve, forehand, backhand, and volley. Students will be taught the basic technical skills and fundamentals, including: ball control, racquet control, grip, set-up, recovery, impact point and hitting zones. They will also be introduced to rallying skills and will be given the opportunity to play fun and interactive tennis games with their peers. The Fundamental camp is designed to be a fun learning environment that will encourage students to develop a long-term love for the sport.

Our Intermediate group camp is for players with previous tennis experience. At this level, we continue to reinforce the fundamentals and strokes learned at the Fundamental level. Students will be introduced to topspin, cross-court, and down-the-line rallies as well as more advanced technical and tactical aspects of tennis. Students will also play fun, interactive, and competitive tennis games with their peers.

Our Competitive group camp is for players with a strong understanding of technical fundamentals.  At this level, students practice and train for a tournament environment. This camp will prepare players for the physical and mental demands of tournament play, as well as prepare players technically and tactically. It is highly recommended that students in this program start competing in Tennis BC tournaments.
