Charles du Toit
Co-Founder / Coach
Charles was born in Bloemfontein, South Africa where he started playing tennis at the age of 4. His father Andre du Toit was one of the most highly decorated and successful tennis coaches of his time. At its peak, his academy taught over a thousand students per week, and many of his students competed at top provincial and national levels. Charles competed at the top provincial level as a junior (U10, U12 and U14) in South Africa. He played nationals for all these categories and was one of the top doubles players (U14) in the country.
After moving to Canada in high school, Charles continued his success in tennis by becoming one of the top provincial players (U16 and U18) in BC. He was offered numerous tennis scholarships to study in the United States but instead, he decided to study Kinesiology at Trinity Western University in British Columbia. After university, Charles worked at respected tennis academies in the United States and South Africa. Prior to starting his own tennis school, he worked as the youngest Head Coach in BC at the Langley Tennis Center. Charles coaches his brother, Riaan du Toit, who is currently playing on the Pro Circuit. Charles enjoys teaching people of all ages and levels from Beginner to High Performance. He believes that students will improve and stay interested in tennis through a combination of learning and excitement.
